The Metropolitan Special Police Department believes that trust and communication are essential  pillars of any successful relationship. We strives to earn the public's trust, develop efficient and effective lines of communication, and maintain a positive working relationship with the community. Therefore, the Metropolitan Special Police Department's Office of Police & Security Complaints (OPSC) provides a way to file a special police officer or security officer misconduct complaint, when an individual believes a member of our department and their interactions reflected misconduct.

OPSC investigates the following allegations: harassment; use of unnecessary or excessive force; use of language or conduct that is insulting, demeaning, or humiliating; discriminatory treatment; retaliation for filing a complaint with OPSC;  conduct unbecoming of an officer; and failure to wear or display required identification or identify oneself by name and badge number when requested to do so by a member of the public.
